Breathe to relax your mind
Relaxing breathing
Learn to relax your mind with breathing:
Sit on a chair, feet to ground or you can stand upright; make sure your spine is upright, hands relaxed, head slightly bend, chest open and eyes closed. Take five deep breaths – deep inhale, hold and exhale; focus on the breathing. Continue breathing normally, slowly with no force. Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth and slowly say “in” & “out”. While inhaling your say “iiiiiin” and “ooooout” as you exhale. You can make a soft whistling sound or say it mentally.

If you are distracted just gently return your focus back to the breathing and you might need to repeat more breaths. Some people prefer counting or other words such as calm – peace, relax – let go, love – peace. Choose the ones you like.
The breath can be used to relax your mind flooded by many thoughts. This practice can take few minutes longer but it eventually relaxes the busy mind. Do not give up on it first.
While breathing visualize your thoughts as heaviness or darkness residing in your head. Focus on seeing the darkness or heaviness leaving your head or attached your thoughts to the exhaling breaths. It creates the lightness and space in your mind. End with the focus on deep inhaling lightness, ease & relaxation.
Breathing practice can be very short or it can go up to 10 minutes.
